Holidays are nearing! This also comes with many people experiencing anxiety about holiday meals and parties.
Here are few tips to not "break the bank" when it comes to your health and fitness goals:
. 🦃 Eat your holiday meals. Don't think you need to skip them whatsoever.
🦃If you have work parties or potlucks, volunteer to bring a healthy dish in which that way you can know for certain there will something there you can choose at the very least.
💡A trick I often use at parties is to skip the snacking and hor dourves in order to eat what I truly want, the main meal! (snacks and appetizers are very easy to overeat before the main course)
🦃At holiday meals, eat a full, balanced meal! Eat slow, be mindful of what you are eating, be the last to be served by assisting in the serving, and wait a bit before you run up for seconds. It is okay to have dessert, just a reasonable portion. However, don't let it turn into a binge
🦃Important: Do not skip meals in anticipation of your holiday meals as this can lead to overindulging and negative behaviors. Stick to your normal meal schedule best you can
🦃Lastly, eat what you want and stop overthinking! Yes having some strategies in place can help keep the balance with progress, but it is okay to enjoy the holidays AND keep progress going. You just have to make the best choices of what's available, stay happy, be mindful, and enjoy your foods!😊
